Today, 27 MAY is birthday my darling...sure tgh busy uruskan thesis kt msia. Wish him all the best! Pressure, anger, frustration...smua akan ada masa belajar ni kan. Apa2 pun, that's life. Mana ada life yg tak diuji Allah.

To my darling, this year me & anak2 tak dpt meraikan your birthday so I'll say sorry. We've been parted thousand miles but yet my heart & love is always close to yours......Keep faith in Allah's destiny ya darling?

Anyway, if umur panjang, InsyaAllah when you're here, we can always have a belated one with u.

Ayam Masak Serai

All time fav....ni kalo xsilap asainya masakan Mak Lang. Tq bebanyak ler mak lang....mmg sedap masakan ni smpai my daughter sorang tu meratah2 je, xyah nasik pun dh bley mkn. Selalunye bila masak lupe aje nk snap gambo. Hat yg ni pun mujur tingat yg mommy belum share kt sini. So, sempat ler ayam masak serai mommy ni berposing sket ^_______^. One more thing, masakan ni seakan2 sama ngan cara bonda mommy masak pekasam...lebih kurang je resipinye. Mmm....dh berkurun tak makan pekasam nihhhh.............terliur la plak!

Ayam Masak Serai (sumber: Mak Lang)



Bhn2:
A:
1/2kg ayam, potong ikut cara sendiri lah kirenye :)
sedikit serbuk kunyit & secubit garam (biar ada rasa masin2 sket..sket aje tawww)

B: (bhn2 tumbuk/kisar)
1bj bwg besar
3-5ulas bwg merah
3ulas bwg putih
---------------------
2-3 sdb serbuk cili/cili kisar (resipi mak lang rasenye dia letak 20bj cili kering)
(boleh aje nk kisar sekalik ngan cili kering tp mommy ni agak kurrrreng rajin nk menguruskan cili kering so guna yg dh readymade kisar atau serbuk cili ajo)

C:
5-7btg serai, dititik (bg hancur sket biar kuar rasa serainye nnt)
1-2 kpg asam gelugor
2-3sdb myk masak
garam & gula secukup rasa

Cara:
1. Lumur ayam dgn serbuk kunyit & garam. Goreng hgga agak2 separuh masak. Angkat & ketepikan.
2. Panaskan myk dlm kuali, tumiskan bhn2 B termasuk serbuk cili. Bila naik bau masukkan serai. Kacau2 then masukkan ayam tadi serta asam gelugor, garam & gula. Kacau2 dan masak hgga agak kering & pecah myk (trademark masakan melayu kata kan hehheh). Pecah minyak ni penting sbb ini adalah penanda aras bahan2 masakan dah "mesra" & sebati dan masak bersama sepenuhnye. Masakan ni agak kering tp of course as a self-declared "home-chef" hihihih..kita leh control this thing. Means, sesapa yg nk byk kuah, lebihkan sket bwg2 & leh aje tmbh sket air. Bila boh air, masakkan cam biasa smpai pecah minyak (tak sudah2 ngan pecah minyak yer :) ). Ok, done! Siap utk dimakan dgn nasi putih. Ngan nasik minyak pun jalaannnn...!

Puff Kentang

Lunchbox & juadah minum petang yg paling simple adalah dgn mengggunakan puff pastry...ready-made please...:)
Intinya mommy juz letakkan kentang (isi karipap la beb heheh)...Intinye pure-ly from my bonda and someday I'll share the recipe here when my malaysian curry puff is ready to serve, ok? Eventhough there's no meat/chicken filling, simply potatoes but it's just as yummmmm as u couldn't imagine. .. can't really make their way to the table, di oven plate pun dh rebut2 amik (masa suam2 panas gituuu..)...Jom makan....!

Kerutuk Ayam

Since ada peluang bawak masuk rempah kerutuk, mommy berpeluang ler memasaknye...Tp hat yg ni kureng sket la plak rasenye sbb 1) mommy kurangkn myk masak, 2) santan yg mommy guna santan kotak aje, 3) rempah kerutuk bukan yg pure beli dr kelantan tp hat adabi pny so mgkn rase tak spt rempah yg biasa mommy guna....4) masak nk cpt so ia tak merah & menyerlah (di samping kurang myk so bila myk pecah, krg menghasilkan warna kemerahan tuh but we can always put serbuk cili which I never did)...Anyway, it's still rezeki dari Allah, isn't. Alhamdulillah...........

Menu harian (Ikan Tenggiri & Daging)

Ni menu harian mommy....
Ikan tggiri kt msia kire mahal la gak kan (compared to ikan2 lain) tp kt sini, cam murah gak (kalo xconvert $ ke RM larrr)...Hari tu beli, sekor beso gedabak, dlm 3kg rege dlm $12. not bad eh... So, wat masak kicap pun enak jugek seyyy...

Masakan tradisi hehhe (yg amat simple) is daging goreng kunyit. Mgkn mommy tak penah mention psl cara nk masak daging  goreng ni.

Yg nk bgtau nye, kalo nk wat daging goreng, jgn terus goreng deh! Pas bersih2 daging tu, toskan then lumur dgn garam & serbuk kunyit (skala nk cpt, mommy trus aje letak dlm kuali & campur-gaulkn dgn garam & kunyit). Then bukak api, bg daging tu masak skjp (utk soh dia buang air daging dulu). Bila air daging dh agak kering (mcm likat2 sket), wat lubang di tgh (means tolak daging ke tepi dlm bentuk membulat) kemudian letak minyak. Bila myk dh panas baru le gorengkn daging tu, dlm masa yg tak le lama sgt. That way, daging tak jd keras...Sblm angkat cmpurkn hirisan bwg bulat & cili muda...sure terangkat!

Simple Palmiers (with cinnamon and chocolate chips)

Masa skg ni bkn sekadar emas tp dh mcm platinum nilainye. So, demi nk jimatkan masa...better have simple menu but with fab taste.
...terutamanya for my kids' bfast or lunchboxes...almaklum la, 4 of them dh attend public school so perut kene betul2 berisi sbb skolah ada 3 kali rehat (uwaaaaa...). So, this is the one yang paling simple, palmiers. Palmiers ni kire cam biskut dr france nun and basically dibuat ngan puff pastry. The pastry can be made from the scratch but demi nk jimatkan masa, better lah wat ngan readymade puff pastry kan...

Jom kita wat palmiers....


Simple Palmiers (with cinnamon and chocolate chips)
Versi ni rupanye tak cantik la plak, kene curve-kn lg atasnye tu, baru ada rupa palmier :)


Bhn2:
2 kpg puff pastry (pls thaw for few minutes)
inti:
1 sdt serbuk cinnamon
2 sdb gula halus
sedikit butter
-----------------------
1-2 sdb choc chips
sdkt telur (pukul sket, utk disapu pd palmier)

Cara:
1. Gaul rata bhn2 inti dlm satu bekas.
2. Ambil 1 keping pastri & sapu rata inti pd permukaannya. Kemudian taburkan choc chip.
3. Pd satu hujung, gulung pastri smpai tgh. Then pd satu lg bhg bertentangan, gulungkn jugak, smpai ke tengah (kirenya, dua gulung bertembung di tengah la ye). Pastu amik lagi satu pastri & buat proses yg sama. Then bungkus dgn foil (so ada 2 lah) & simpan dlm eskbok dlm 20-30min.
4. Dlm dkt2 20min tu, panaskan oven, 200C. Lepas tu bwk kuar palmier & sapukn dgn sdkt telur & potong kecik2, dlm 0.5cm (nipis2 utk rasa kerangupannye nnt).
5. Alas dulang dgn alumunium foil & susun palmier atas dulang tu. Dh siap potong, sapu lagi semuanya ngan telur then bakar. First bakar dlm 10min then bwk kuar & terbalikkan setiap satu. Pastu bakar lg dlm tak smpai 10 min. Dh siap angkat & sejukkan skjp. Sedap dimkn suam2!

ARISH IKMAL BIRTHDAY ---- 08.05.11

Today's is my 4th son's 5th birthday.
Happy Birthday ARISH........! Mommy doakan Arish dgn kesihatan yg baik, punya budi pekerti yang mulia & yg penting sekali jadi anak yang soleh. Amiin.

Reminiscing back the day I gave birth to him mmm....it seemed like yesterday having him! Me & my darling planned to have him after we came back from our honeymoon (again hehhe..) at Egypt (plus we went for umrah at that time). So, my darling asked for a boy and Alhamdulillah, Allah granted our wish...for the fourth time.

It was, again, Alhamdulillah a very easy & simple delivery as I wanted to let him out 2 weeks early. But wait....! Of course, no induce, no epidural (never had one!)....simply normal birth. Mommy requested kt gynae, let me have him at home because previous three births seemed smooth and okay but gynae said, NOBODY HAD SUCH REQUEST! mmm....nak balik kampung tak nak sbb sblm ni, tiga2 berpantang kat rumah sendiri, bakar tungku sendiri, benkung sendiri, uruskan anak2 & suami sendiri, masak, basuk, cuci smua2nye sendiri...so, takkan beranak pun takleh sendiri.....??? Gynae still said no, no, no! So, terpaksa la akur...
At school...
Back to li'l Arish story, although THAT request di-reject mentah2 tp THIS request tak pulak. The request I'm talking about is to have Arish at 38weeks (because mommy punya keje kt office tgh peak, kene abiskan project on time beb so kene beranak cpt2!). She said, it's not impossible because I've had three pregnancies so it should (InsyaAllah) be okay. But again, I didn't want induce, epidural, episiotomy & ceasar & whatsoever. Apa yg mommy nk wat, as usual, I'll do my own stimulation (to stimulate my cervic) tp kene lah tawakkal pd Allah dulu la kan sbb proses ni tak leh wat kalo cervic tak betul2 "masak"/"matang". So, gynae said no problem with that. Just doa for the best! Of course I will & always will!

Starting week 36 mommy dh ready wat regular check-up with gynae - to check the status of cervic. Bila dh "masak", we can always stimulate the effacement & dilation process, InsyaAllah. By end of week 36, Arish mcm dh phm2 mommynye soh kuar awai heheh...when checked, gynae said it's ready, yeayyyy....Nx weeknya mommy gi keje cam biasa so leh time nk wat stimulation but almost end of week 37, during weekend mmg tak putus2 wat. Mmg ada postive sign because my record of Braxton-Hicks (BH) mmg showed frequent contraction each time mommy did the stimulation. Ye ye yeh....its almost time to meet lil Arish. He's very2 co-operative! Thanks honeyyyyy....On Saturday tu I went to pasar malam with my darling, terjumpa kwn lama. Tgk my big bulky belly, dia pun tanya, bila due. I simply said, next Monday! She said, eh, dh tau ke? I replied, tak lah, but I want him on next Monday........she just grinned with a lil confusion ^___^. Sunday tu I already had a feeling, my cervic is well effaced & dilated.

So, pagi Isnin, 8 MAY 2006 tu kami anto siap2 anak2 ke school & taska. After that, we went straight to see gynae. When checked, yup, I'm dilated with 3-4cm. Alhamdulillah. Masa tu my gynae ada clinic (means she has to be at her clinic for patients' regular check-up). Again, we went to labour room & waited there with doing nothing except sembang2, igt masa dulu2...best gak, dok dua2 dlm bilik labour yg dh mcm bilik hotel! My darling siap pekena nasi lemak lg tuh hehhe. Since mommy ni tak rasa contraction pains so mommy tak tau how much I was dilated except gynae dtg & check. But, yg mommy tau, kalao lenguh2 kaki, mmg dh masanye & it did happen. So, by noon, ARISH IKMAL was born with normal delivery, weighing only 3.10kg (as compared to his brother with 3.60kg!); head circumference=35cm & length=51cm. One push he's out and Alhamdulillah, he was very co-operative during birthing process.

Smlm celebrate birthday 1 day early sbb papa balik Malaysia ptg smlm so xsmpat nk tggu today. So, cam biasa mommy hari2 pun bz ngan keje skolah so just made him beries pavlova, simple choc cake, marshmallow icecream (Batrisyia's recipe & nasi lemak)...
